The Federal Ministry of Education (FME) has officially opened applications for the second batch of its Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Programme as of April 13, 2026.

Program Overview

This initiative aims to equip Nigerian youth with practical skills in high-demand sectors. Trainees receive a monthly stipend of ₦22,500 to cover transportation and upkeep, ensuring smooth participation.

  • Duration: 6 months to 1 year of intensive, hands-on training.
  • Stipend: ₦22,500 monthly, linked to attendance verified by biometric systems.
  • Benefits: Tuition-free training, nationally recognized certification, and possible access to starter packs, grants, or low-interest loans from the Bank of Industry (BOI).
  • Training Centers: Over 1,600 accredited centers across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Available Skills & Trades

The program offers training in about 24 to 28 sectors, including:

  • Digital & Tech: ICT, Creative Media, Computer Hardware and GSM repair.
  • Construction: Electrical Installation, Plumbing, Welding, Tiling, Carpentry.
  • Agriculture & Services: Modern Agriculture, Livestock Farming (Beekeeping, Poultry), Fashion Design.
  • Hospitality: Catering, Tourism, Cosmetology.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Age: Between 18 and 35 years (some sources mention up to 45 years).
  • Documents: Valid National Identification Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN).
  • Education: At least a First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC).

  2. Verify your identity using your NIN and BVN.
