Field Enumerator Recruitment in Southwest Nigeria: Five Vacancies Available

A research team is recruiting Field Enumerators for an ongoing agricultural research project in Southwestern Nigeria.

The project will document agricultural knowledge, skills, stories and practices within local farming and food-processing communities. Only one enumerator will be selected from each location.

• Ondo Town, Ondo State

• Iwo Town, Osun State

• Oyo Town, Oyo State

• Epe, Lagos State

• Ilugun, Odeda LGA, Ogun State

Who Can Apply?

Applicants should:

• Live in or understand the chosen location very well.

• Communicate confidently in English, Yoruba and the local dialect.

• Be comfortable speaking with farmers, traders and food processors.

• Have good listening, observation and interview skills.

• Know how to use an Android phone and digital data-collection tools.

• Be able to take clear photographs and audio recordings when permitted.

• Respect confidentiality and informed consent.

• Be willing to work on farms, in markets and rural communities.

Experience in agriculture, community development, NGO fieldwork, research, digital data collection or rural development will be an advantage.

Main Responsibilities

Selected enumerators will receive training before deployment. Their duties will include:

• Conducting interviews.

• Documenting agricultural practices and local knowledge.

• Observing farming and food-processing activities.

• Recording local stories and terms.

• Collecting and submitting data through digital platforms.

• Identifying people who may be suitable for further interviews.
