Malaria Consortium is seeking a qualified and experienced Logistics Advisor to join their team in Kogi State, Nigeria. This is a full-time, temporary position offering a competitive salary and the chance to contribute to impactful malaria prevention campaigns.
About the Role:
The Logistics Advisor will provide technical support for the supply chain management of insecticide-treated nets (ITNs) across states implementing mass malaria campaigns. This role involves maintaining efficient logistics, inventory control, and accountability of ITNs, while supporting state-level malaria elimination programs and coordinating closely with logistics units and campaign teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Supply Chain Management (70%)
- Ensure timely supply chain activities aligned with donor requirements and organizational policies
- Support ITN microplanning and target setting for mass campaigns
- Strengthen procurement, delivery, and supply chain of ITN and related commodities
- Contribute to commodity quantification and distribution planning
- Oversee submission of logistic reports and reconciliation tools
- Coordinate reverse logistics for unused ITNs post-campaign
- Manage delivery discrepancies and quality issues at all distribution levels
- Serve as a primary liaison between Malaria Consortium and state logistics units
- Work with Monitoring and Evaluation teams to reconcile logistics and service data
Coordination and Feedback (30%)
- Maintain smooth collaboration with technical and supply chain teams
- Coordinate supply chain micro-planning in campaign states
- Provide timely updates to the Health Systems Country Supply Chain Manager
- Support state and national malaria elimination program supply chain units
Person Specification:
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- 5-7 years post-qualification in pharmacy or public health-related field
- Minimum 3 years continuous experience in ITN mass campaign supply chain and logistics management
- Experience engaging stakeholders at national and state levels
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and planning skills
Desirable:
- Knowledge of public health commodity logistics in Nigeria
Skills & Competencies:
- Effective work at sub-national levels
- Understanding of pharmaceutical importation and customs processes
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Analytical ability to simplify complex information
- Flexibility and problem-solving in dynamic environments
- Excellent Excel and database management skills
