2 Professors were declared winners of Local Government Chairmanship election in Borno State.

The Local Government (LG) elections in Borno State took another turn today after two Professors were declared winners of Local Government Chairmanship election in Borno State.

The two Professors who will be the Chairmen of Gwoza Local Government and Damboa Local Government Areas of Borno State. The Professor are A. G. Aloma and Professor Ibrahim Bulama Bukar who were both lecturers from a Nigeria University.


This is showing that elections in Nigeria are taking another dimension, if academicians are now joining politics and vying for positions as low as local government chairman in a state, a position which are normally occupied by secondary school graduates, then Nigeria will be better.


The local government chairman will oversee the affairs of a local government with the help of his Councillors and other members from the wards that comprises of the Local Government Area. The position of a professor is regarded as the highest level of education in the world
