Departments Recruiting Supervisors

Iconic Open University requires supervisors across the following departments:

  10. Islamic Studies

Who Can Apply?

Applications are open to:

  • Current Iconic University lecturers across departments.

  • Academics willing to join the university as permanent, part-time or visiting lecturers.

  • Qualified professionals with relevant academic, industry or supervisory experience.

Key Responsibilities

Selected supervisors will provide academic and professional guidance to students participating in SIWES, practicum, field work and project programmes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Mentoring and guiding assigned students.

  • Monitoring students' progress.

  • Reviewing daily reports and activities.

  • Providing constructive feedback.

  • Helping students address challenges during their placements.

  • Ensuring activities meet programme requirements.

  • Preparing bi-weekly student progress reports.

  • Participating in departmental review meetings.

  • Participating in students' final presentations and evaluations.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants should possess:

Academic Qualification

A minimum of a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is required.

Candidates with a PhD will have an added advantage.

Professional Experience

Applicants should have approximately 2–4 years of relevant academic, professional or supervisory experience.

Required Skills

Candidates should demonstrate:

  • Strong knowledge of their professional field.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Mentoring and interpersonal skills.

  • Reporting and documentation abilities.

  • Ability to monitor and evaluate students effectively.

Applicants must also be available throughout the supervision period.

Mandatory Meeting Schedule

Selected supervisors are expected to participate in scheduled supervision activities.

Supervisor–Student Meetings:
Monday and Friday
4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Departmental Supervisors' Meetings:
Bi-weekly on Saturday
4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Supervisors will use these sessions to review students' progress, address challenges and ensure programme objectives are being achieved.

Remuneration

Selected supervisors will receive a competitive administrative allowance for their supervision and mentorship responsibilities.

Payment will be calculated on a per-student basis, with applicable rates depending on the undergraduate or postgraduate programme.

Specific remuneration details will be communicated to shortlisted candidates during the engagement briefing.
