YLabs, a global design and research organization focused on empowering youth through innovative solutions, is seeking Nigeria-based Youth Researchers for a short-term contract.

• Combines expertise in adolescent health, climate, livelihoods, behavioral science, and more
• Operates globally with projects in 20+ countries
• Focus areas: health and wellness, economic opportunity, climate resilience

Job Summary:

• Role: Youth Researcher
• Location: Remote, based in Nigeria
• Contract: May to mid-July 2026
• Pay: $11 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and coordinate field visits and logistics
• Conduct observations, interviews, and group discussions with youth and community members
• Respectfully engage participants, capturing detailed field notes and insights
• Participate in debriefs and contribute to early data synthesis
• Follow ethical research and safeguarding guidelines

Candidate Profile:

• Strong connection to local Nigerian communities
• Curious, attentive, and respectful listener
• Able to build trust and engage diverse people
• Observant of verbal and non-verbal cues
• Reflective and open to learning
• Reliable and able to manage fieldwork independently
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in research, monitoring & evaluation, or community engagement
• Proficient in English and relevant local languages
• Comfortable with digital tools and remote collaboration
• Must provide valid police clearance and references
