The Crest Research and Development Institute (CRADI), a nonprofit organization committed to advancing development through evidence-based research, is recruiting Data Collectors to support a nationwide research project in Nigeria.

About the Project:

CRADI is conducting a large-scale baseline study under its Agricultural Transformation Lab (ATL) to assess productivity, markets, and innovation readiness in Nigeria’s agricultural sector. This study covers all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, including all 774 Local Government Areas. It focuses on agricultural systems, market dynamics, innovation adoption, digital readiness, and inclusivity of women, youth, and persons with disabilities.

Locations:

Data Collector positions are open nationwide, including states like Abia, Abuja (FCT), Adamawa, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bauchi, Bayelsa, Benue, Borno, Cross River, Delta, Ebonyi, Edo, Ekiti, Enugu, Gombe, Imo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Lagos, Nasarawa, Niger, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Plateau, Rivers, Sokoto, Taraba, Yobe, and Zamfara.

Role Overview:

Data Collectors will work under field supervisors and the research team to collect reliable and timely data from respondents. They must adhere to research ethics, maintain professionalism, and ensure data accuracy using approved digital tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend mandatory training on research tools and ethics
  • Conduct structured interviews and surveys in assigned locations
  • Record responses accurately using digital platforms
  • Obtain informed consent and maintain confidentiality
  • Report challenges and provide field notes as needed
  • Submit verified data daily within deadlines

Duration:

This is a short-term field engagement requiring full availability throughout the assignment period.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in data collection or field surveys is an advantage
  • Attention to detail and high integrity
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable using digital data tools
  • Willingness to travel within assigned locations
  • Knowledge of local languages and contexts is beneficial
