Job Opportunity: Field Survey Supervisor (FSS at WeLight Nigeria [Salary: NGN 250,000 - 400,000]

WeLight Nigeria is seeking a qualified and experienced Field Survey Supervisor (FSS) to lead field data collection activities assessing electricity demand in rural communities. This contract position offers a competitive salary and the chance to contribute to impactful energy access research.

Job Summary:
The Field Survey Supervisor will manage highly operational and field-intensive survey activities across multiple Nigerian communities. The role combines team leadership, data coordination, quality control, and community engagement to ensure efficient and accurate data collection.

Key Responsibilities:

Field Survey Execution:

• Plan and conduct field surveys using WeLight’s methodology
• Oversee site visits and data collection exercises
• Ensure proper use of survey tools, tablets, and applications

Team Management:

• Recruit, train, and supervise field support workers
• Assign daily targets and monitor surveyor performance
• Maintain professionalism and efficiency in field teams

Data Quality & Delivery:

• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of survey data
• Validate and consolidate enumerator data
• Deliver high-quality datasets for load demand estimation

Community Engagement:

• Liaise with local leaders to facilitate field activities
• Promote full understanding of the project among community stakeholders
• Ensure smooth access and cooperation within communities

Site Assessment & Support:

• Identify and recommend viable survey sites based on observations
• Support the Geomarketing team in validating project pipelines

Process Compliance & Reporting:

• Adhere to WeLight’s survey methodologies and reporting processes
• Report progress, challenges, and results to the Geomarketing Lead

Requirements:

• Degree qualification
• Minimum 3 years’ mid-level experience managing field teams
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality
• Ability to work in remote and rural environments
• Excellent organizational and coordination skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience with digital survey and data collection tools
• Good understanding of community entry strategies
• Preferably experience in electricity sector field data collection

Contract: Rotating schedule
