The Federal Government has launched the second phase of the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative (RHEI), managed by the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), to reduce unemployment and equip youths with skills for career acquisition and development.
The Director-General of the NDE, Mr. Silas Agara, announced this during the launch of the online registration portal in Abuja. He stated that the process will be transparent and fair, and is designed to give every citizen an opportunity without discrimination. "We have successfully completed the first phase, and we have provided equipment and centers in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory to facilitate the smooth running of this second phase," he said.
Agara stated that anyone interested in the program would need a National Identification Number (NIN) and proof of residency in any Nigerian state, regardless of their state of origin. He explained that only Nigerians between the ages of 18 and 45 are eligible to register, and they will receive training in over 30 vocational and modern technology skills, tailored to the economic needs of each state. "For example, what is relevant in Abia may not be suitable for Adamawa, which is why we have designed the training according to the needs of each state," Agara added.

Registration will run from July 28 to August 11, 2025, while the screening of applicants' data will take place from August 12 to 22. He warned the public to avoid fraudulent individuals who demand payment or use unofficial channels. "The program is completely free, and any attempt at fraud should be promptly reported to the NDE state offices or the headquarters," he said.
