The Council conducts biomedical, social science and public health research and helps build research capacities in developing countries. The Population Council works in collaboration with a broad range of Nigerian institutions.

The Council seeks individuals to fill the role of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Consultant on a temporary hire  basis to support the IntegratE 2.0 Project Research, Monitoring, and Evaluation (RME) activities in Nigeria :

LOCATIONS:  Sokoto, Bauchi, Bornu, Yobe, Niger and Kano states.

ASSIGNMENT LENGTH: 6 months (January 01, 2023 – June 30, 2023) renewable by availability of funding

JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for building the capacity of frontline health workers and patent medicine vendor owners on NHMIS tools and the use of mobile DHIS2 for primary health care (PHC) services. Oversee the correct

reporting of routine service statistics and timely submission to the NHMIS. Manage the database/dashboard for capturing and processing routine data collected through project management information systems. Identify gaps in the monitoring   system and provide quick solutions to ensure optimal data. Conduct meetings.


1.   Train CPs and Patent medicine vendors on NHMIS tools and the use of mobile DHIS2

2.   Conduct monthly data verification and quarterly data Quality Assessments on the data from CPs and PPMVs to ensure completeness and accuracy

3.   Provide inputs to Integrate managers and technical leads in collection, analysis, and reporting of program data

4.   Provide inputs and analysis for the regular reporting of program performance indicators to BMGF and other stakeholders

5.   Conduct quarterly M&E review meetings

6.   Provide inputs for the development of research instruments for surveys and research studies.


1.   Level of Education – A minimum of bachelor’s degree in public health/social science/International Health or any related area

2.   Experience in a Similar Role – 2 years

3.   Experience in managing health programs

4.   Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skill

5.   Language Requirements – Excellent English language

6.   Experience in using the Demographic and Health Information System 2

7.   Experience in conducting Data Quality Assessments

8.   Ability to use data management packages – Epi Data/Epi Info

9.   Experience in converting data into clear useable format for different audiences

10. Willingness to travel within your within project state (travel at least 50%)

11. Strong analytic and database skills including statistical analysis

12. Experience in implementing field research.
