Job Opportunity: LGA Field Assistant at Malaria Consortium (Zamfara, Sokoto & Kebbi)
Malaria Consortium, a leading global health organization specializing in malaria prevention and treatment, is recruiting LGA Field Assistants to support Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC) activities across Zamfara, Sokoto, and Kebbi states in Nigeria. This is a full-time, fixed-term contract position critical to ensuring effective implementation of malaria interventions at the local government and community levels.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Implementation (70%)
- Support and coordinate SMC activities at LGA and community levels
- Organize planning meetings, develop route plans, and oversee commodity distribution
- Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages and ensure accountability
- Supervise field teams including Health Facility Workers (HFWs) and Community Health Workers (CHWs)
- Facilitate community mobilization and ensure adherence to programme protocols
- Track performance targets and timely delivery of activities
Reporting & Data Quality (10%)
- Review and validate field data, such as tally sheets
- Ensure accurate data entry into reporting platforms
- Assist M&E teams to resolve data quality challenges
- Submit regular reports to supervisors and project managers
Coordination & Representation (10%)
- Participate in LGA-level planning and review meetings
- Collaborate with public health officials and relevant stakeholders
- Represent the programme in community engagements as needed
Administrative Duties (10%)
- Assist in training activities and logistics coordination
- Monitor supply consumption and support inventory reconciliation
- Help plan stock requirements for field operations
- Carry out other duties as assigned by managers
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum Diploma or Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Public Health, Nursing, Clinical Science, or related disciplines
- At least 2 years of experience in health, logistics, or development programmes
- Fluency in English and Hausa; knowledge of additional local languages is an advantage
- Experience in commodity supply management, monitoring & evaluation, and logistics is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable Skills
- Experience in training and capacity building
- Prior experience working at the LGA level
- Ability to supervise and support field teams

- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Ability to work under pressure in challenging environments
- Strong teamwork and independent work capabilities
- Nigerian citizenship required
