The Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration, and Prisons Services Board (CDFIPB) is responsible for recruiting qualified Nigerians into key paramilitary agencies such as the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service, and Nigeria Prisons Service (now Nigerian Correctional Service).

If you possess a National Certificate in Education (NCE) or a National Diploma (ND), you are eligible to apply for several positions under the Inspectorate Cadre. This guide explains the specific roles available for NCE and ND holders and how to apply successfully.

Available Positions for NCE or ND Holders (Under CDFIPB Recruitment)

You can apply to the following positions based on your qualification:

Inspectorate Cadre (General Duty & Health Services)

1. Inspector of Corps (IC)
  • Qualification:

    • NCE in any field from a recognized institution

    • Also open to holders of Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Nurse/Midwife (RNM) certificates

  • Agency: Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)

  • Level: Mid-level entry

  • Salary Structure: CONPASS

2. Assistant Inspector of Corps (AIC)
  • Qualification:

    • ND from a recognized Polytechnic or institution

    • Also open to ND holders in health-related fields such as:

      • Community Health

      • Pharmacy

      • Health Education

      • Medical Records

      • Nutrition

      • Laboratory Technology

      • Environmental Health

  • Agency: NSCDC, Nigeria Immigration, Fire Service, or Prisons

  • Level: Entry to mid-level

  • Salary Structure: CONPASS 06

General Requirements

All applicants—regardless of agency—must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a Nigerian citizen by birth

  • Age between 18 and 30 years

  • Possess relevant qualifications and certificates

  • Be physically and mentally fit (a medical certificate is required)

  • Have no criminal record

  • Not be affiliated with secret societies, cults, or drug groups

  • Not be involved in financial crimes or embarrassment

  • Height Requirements:

    • Male: 1.65m minimum

    • Female: 1.60m minimum

  • Chest measurement for men: Minimum 0.87m

  • Computer literacy is an added advantage
